QUALITY INSPECTOR

Rickmansworth - Permanent

We are a successful and expanding Sub-Contract engineering company in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, supplying high quality components to a wide range of industries including aerospace, medical and motorsport.

Due to the expansion of our Quality Department we are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our busy Quality team on a permanent basis.

Duties include:

  • Carrying out dimensional and visual inspection for First off, Patrol and Final inspection of components.
  • Reporting any non-conformances in line with the Company NCR process
  • Preparing reports including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and other inspection reports.
  • Assist with Root cause analysis and problem-solving activities on the shop floor etc.
  • Other Quality related activities as required.

Essential experience / skills.

  • Previous experience of working experience within CNC manufacturing environments is essential.
  • An excellent understanding of engineering drawings including Geometric tolerances.
  • CMM experience essential.
  • Able to use other various types of measuring equipment including Micrometers, Height Gauges, Vernier’s etc.
  • Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
  • Process driven with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be a proactive team player, with a positive 'can do' attitude and motivated towards continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work to ISO9001:2015 requirements.
  • Experience of AS9100 requirements is an advantage.

Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm Friday 7:30am to 1:00pm.

Competitive rates (depending on experience) + Overtime

EXPERIENCED CENTRELESS GRINDER

Rickmansworth - Permanent

We are a successful and expanding Sub-Contract engineering company in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, supplying high quality components to a wide range of industries including aerospace, medical and motorsport.

Due to the expansion of our Grinding Department we are seeking an experienced Centreless Grinder to join our busy and expanding engineering team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include Setting and Operating Centreless Grinders, and other related equipment within our busy Grinding department.

Essential experience / skills:

  • Centreless Grinding, ideally on Cincinnati grinders
  • A good understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Must be a proactive team player, with a positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Ability and knowledge of grinding complex parts to tight tolerances.
  • Able to use various types of measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
  • Experience of small batch work an advantage.
  • Previous experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aerospace experience is an advantage.

Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm Friday 7:30am to 1:00pm.

TRAINEE GRINDER

Rickmansworth - Permanent

We are a successful and expanding Sub-Contract engineering company in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire; supplying high quality components to a wide range of industries including aerospace, medical and motorsport.

Due to the expansion of our Grinding Department we are seeking a Trainee Grinder to join our busy and expanding engineering team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include:

  • Learning how to set and operate Cylindrical, Centreless and Surface Grinders ready for use, alongside other machines and equipment in our busy Grinding Department.
  • Receiving hands-on training and gaining experience under guidance and supervision from skilled colleagues.
  • Gaining experience and knowledge of grinding parts to tight tolerances and using various types of measuring equipment including laser measurement.
  • Learning how to check parts against technical drawings and related documents.
  • Keeping work areas tidy and maintaining paperwork / traceability at all times in relation to our ISO 9001:2015 Quality policy.

Desirable experience / skills:

  • No experience is necessary; however, some engineering experience would be an advantage;
  • A good mathematical mind would be beneficial.
  • Able to demonstrate you have a technical mind and would be able to understand technical drawings and related paperwork with the appropriate training.
  • Computer / IT skills.

Personal qualities:

  • An enthusiastic approach and a desire to learn more about engineering and the manufacture of precision parts.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fast learner.
  • Team player with a positive and energetic 'can do' attitude.

Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm & Friday 7:30am to 1:00pm.

Competitive salary (depending on experience) + Overtime (at time and a half).

Due to the expansion of our Grinding Department we are seeking an experienced Toolmaker / Universal Precision Grinder to join our busy and expanding engineering team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include Setting and Operating Cylindrical and Surface Grinders, and other equipment within our busy Grinding department.

Essential experience / skills:

  • Cylindrical and Surface Grinding including internal and external grinding
  • CNC Grinding (Jones & Shipman Ultramat) experience an advantage.
  • A good understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Must be a proactive team player, with a positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Ability and knowledge of grinding complex parts to tight tolerances.
  • Able to use various types of measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
  • Experience of small batch work an advantage.
  • Previous experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aerospace experience is an advantage.

Due to the expansion of our CNC Turning Department we are seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join our busy and expanding engineering team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include Programming, Setting and Operating Mazak CNC Lathes.

Essential experience / skills:

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC Lathes with bar feed / sub spindle, ideally using Mazak machines / Mazatrol controls.
  • A very good understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Must be a proactive team player, with a positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Ability and knowledge of machining parts to tight tolerances.
  • Able to use various types of measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
  • Experience of small / medium size batch work an advantage.
  • Previous experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aerospace experience is an advantage.
